We Remember ...

Today I'm working on police memorial ornaments.  It may seem early to be thinking about Christmas ornaments but we are losing police officers in the line of duty at an alarming rate.  This is February 16th and we have lost 44 officers already since the first of th

e year.

Today my heart was heavy as I worked on the ornament for Officer Mitchell Penton.  He was just 27 years old and had served as a police officer for two years.  He was working the scene of an accident when a drunk driver came speeding down the street and ran into his police cruiser, ramming it into him.

Officer Penton left behind an expectant wife and a stepson - the day before Valentine's Day.

Officer Penton, for those who loved you a mere "thank you" is insufficient.  We weep with them, and we will remember you.
